UPDATE

IN MEMORIUM :  STAN HART

STAN HART, PICTURED ABOVE , WAS A FREQUENT INSTRUCTOR AT THE AWA SUMMER CAMP, HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR AND TRAINED DILIGENTLY FOR 40 YEARS. HE WAS THE BIGGEST BEATLE FAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN AND AS A MUSICIAN IN HIS EARLY YEARS , HE PLAYED GUITAR FOR THE OHIO EXPRESS. STAN HAS ALWAYS BEEN A RESPECTED MARTIAL ARTIST WHO CARRIED A HUMBLENESS ABOUT HIM. STAN AND I USED TO DO SEMINARS IN CANADA TOGETHER AND HE ALWAYS LEFT THE CROWD WITH MORE KNOWLEDGE THAN THEY COULD USUALLY RETAIN. HE ALSO ALWAYS LEFT THEM WITH PAINFUL REMINDERS THAT GOOD STRIKING TECHNIQUES ARE THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING!

STAN WAS ALSO A GREAT PHOTOGRAPHER, WORKING IN BLACK AND WHITE, NOIR STYLE PHOTOS. HIS KEEN EYE AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL MADE HIS WORKS APPEAR AS IF ANSEL HIMSELF WAS PULLING THE TRIGGER.
I WILL MISS STAN HART TERRIBLY. WE WERE FRIENDS FOR DECADES AND THE CRATER THAT NOW LIES IN MY SOUL WILL NOT SOON BE FILLED.
THINKING WARRIOR THOUGHTS MY DEAR FRIEND,
SOKE KEVIN HUUNJIN CULLEN
