ACCEPTED RANK LEVEL AND AGES: Camp is for ALL RANK LEVELS ages 13 to 130 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a paid ($25 attendance fee) non training adult camping with them and no other family members allowed unless they are training. NOTE: Chaperones must pay for one of the lodging options available at the camp. You may pay early by clicking on any of the Sign up links listed on this page.
ACCEPTED STYLES: Any and all styles are invited to this “Close In” style training camp. Wear your regular uniform and rank belt. = WRIST BAND ACCESS: Wrist band allows access to all seminars and events all weekend. Do not tear off, lose or share your wristband with anyone or you will need to purchase another at full camp cost. IT IS YOUR TICKET TO ALL SEMINARS AND EVENTS. CAMP INSTRUCTORS: WITH OVER 300 YEARS EXPERIENCE Kyoshi Devorah Dometrich – RYU KYU KOBUDO (BEGINNER AND ADVANCED CLASS SCHEDULE) Sensei Dometrich will be teaching multiple sessions. Learn Ryu Kyu Kobudo techniques and applications from this world renowned master of weapons. She holds an 8th dan and has been the head of the U.S. under Akamine Sensei since 1977. She remains Akamine Eitsuke Sensei’s only foreign deshi outside Japan and Okinawa. Akamine Sensei was the successor to Taira Shinken, founder of Ryu Kyu Kobudo Hozon Shinkkokai. World Champion Tokey Hill – Team USA style kumite – Team Tokey Hill Tokey Hill, World Champion, will train you in TEAM USA Olympic methods to take your point kumite up a BIG NOTCH.
Kyoshi Jim Thompson – Uechi Ryu Master Jim Thompson brings with him the knowledge he gained while training directly under Kanbun Uechi in Okinawa. He does not travel a regular seminar circuit so please take advantage of this great old school karate training. Kyoshi Dana Abbott –Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame Swordmaster In 1995 he was appointed to the position of Kokusai Bucho (International Director) for the All Japan Goshindo Federation and the International Sports Chanbara Association. His seminars are amazing and high energy. Sharpen your sword and padded weapons skills with this master! Hanshi Toney Raven – One of the last living legions of Judo and Jujitsu, he will share over 66 years of Judo and Jujitsu experience with you. Hanshi Raven is dynamic and will show you the way to Real Judo and Jujitsu excellence. Hanshi Kevin Huunjin Cullen – Trained under son of “The Cat”-He will be sharing Goju Ryu Katas with you. Curriculum includes Sho Ko Kyo Kyoku – the kata that includes applications from his 5 hands system.. the China Hand portion of Goju & kata Kururunfa. Soke Carl Davis – Aiki Jujitsu –Soke Davis is a household name in the southern Ohio area and has done much to promote Paingai Noon and Aiki Jujitsu in the tri-state area. strong and positive message to all seminar participants. You will enjoy
this training and tell others about it. Master Manuel Taningco – This will be Master Taningcos’ first time teaching at an AWA camp. He will be instructing in Armed Forces fighting arts.. The same techniques he teaches to members of our special forces. We are honored to have him and invite you to train with him. Kyoshi Gary Music – Tuite style Okinawan Striking Class and Kempo Kettle Bell Fitness. Sensei Music has been training for over 30 years and specializes in Okinawan Nerve point and cavity striking. PRIMITIVE CAMPING: ($30 PER CAMPSITE, 1 TENT PER CAMPSITE- MAX 4 PERSONS PER TENT.) Have fun traditional summer camp style and “rough it” with primitive camping. All staying in your tent must have a participation or chaperone bracelet on or they will be asked to leave the camp. No alcohol or drugs of any kind are allowed.
